Familia,
So we have had a few things changing in the mission which is awesome. One thing that is so awesome that starts tonight is that we will no longer be passing data every night... we will do it all Sunday. I am so excited! The data that we had to collect and report on every night were; Lessons with Member present, new investigators, the number of people we talked to during the day about the gospel, new baptismal dates, received referrals, referrals contacted, total lessons during the day, the amount of people that gave us their address to their house, and how many total baptismal dates we have. I'll be honest, it always took forever! But now we will not be taking this data every night! :D So I will now be getting to bed on time AND I will have time to study in the evening :) Im super excited!
Something really sad that happened is we will no longer be in a trio. We had a really good time together and honestly it was super fun to be with Elder López and Elder Rodríguez... we honestly were always laughing. One missionary's visa expired, from Guatamala, so we have to give our Chaparito away :( It was really fun though. One thing that is going to be difficult is to have more lessons... we can't enter houses without another responsible man in the house... well when you are in a trio you always have a responsible man with you (I'll be honest, Elder Rodríguez is semi-responsible ;) ) so you can always enter without another man in the house. I hope made sense. If not... ni modo [oh well]. But starting today Elder López will be my companion. It's going to be weird in a normal companionship again. I'm going to miss Elder Rodríguez.
Today we had a special meeting with Presidente Camarillo and all the zone leaders. We talked about the whole iniciativa (maybe it translates as "Move"[or even "initiative"]) that the Church is doing this Christmas. It is called "El es la Dádiva" or "He is the Gift." If you don't know about this look it up at christmas.mormon.org or navidad.mormon.org. It's awesome! The Church has made a video about Christ and it will be on the front page of YouTube the 7th of December for all the world to see. Anyways here in the mission we are going to be handing out pass-along cards and talking about this movement the church is doing... so that everyone can really focus in on what really matters this Christmas... which is our Savior Jesus Christ. I am super excited. This surprise meeting we had today was awesome. One thing that is kind of sad is that a lot of missionaries know me now and know that I kind of get emotional when talking about my Savior. So I pretty much get harassed every meeting we have... everyone just waits until Elder Summers cries. Even President Camarillo has joked with me about my over used tear glands. He also mentioned to me that I remind him of President Eyring... because President Eyring always cries when he speaks. I just told him that im am following good footsteps then... we agreed on it.
It's crazy to think this is going to be my last Christmas here in the mission this next month. I am going to make it be the best Christmas that I have had in my whole entire life... but more importantly I will make it the best Christmas for everyone that I come into contact with because we will be focused on our Savior.
Things are going great! Keep being awesome.
Love,
Elder Summers
