Familia,
Well we had a really great week this past week with a lot of success. We had a really, just straight up awesome conference with the president and the assistants. The conference was based on Orar con Frequencia y El Espíritu Santo [Pray Often and The Holy Ghost]. We learned about the importance of the commandment to Pray Frequently and the Spirit in the Conversion. We did some practices and learned that our investigators need to pray, correctly, and they need to recognize the Spirit as their answer to their prayers.
We had a great lesson with Hermano Pedro this last week. He has had a tough time with accepting the Restoration. He reads the Book of Mormon, prays, and goes to church... but didn't understand that our church was the only true church in this world. We put into practice focusing in on helping him recognize the answer. He pretty told us that he feels something different in our church... after going to many other churches and religions he has noticed a difference in our church. We helped him understand that what he feels is the Spirit telling us that this is the true church. He ended the lesson with a prayer begging for help for him to prepare for his baptism on the 28 and asking God to bless the families of Vargas and Soomers. Pedro is amazing... I love him... He is just an amazing man and I have the amazing privilege to be here in the time of his first steps to his conversion. Pedro's wife died 10 years ago and he loved her dearly. He understands that God has a plan for him and now understands that he can see her again... and wants to be sealed with her for all time and eternity.
The weather has been great this week... kind of hot actually :D Pero no me puedo quejar [But I can't complain] ;)
There are a lot of other things that I would like to share with you all but its time to go. We had a lot of success this week in Sacrament meeting with 5 investigators from our area, 5 from the sisters, and 3 from the other Elders in our ward.
I love my mission... I am going to miss these people here and I don't think I realize the grand opportunity I have here to serve. God lives and loves each and everyone of us. I am not perfect... but I know he cares for me and loves :)
Keep working hard back at home... see you soon.
Love,
Elder Summers
