Hey folks! We were excited to get our first letter from Keegan on Saturday! His p-day is Friday, but he wasn't able to email this week since he'd only been in the MTC for a few days. We anxiously await his email next week. Fun fact: If you click the email icon in the upper right corner of this site, you can email Elder Summers directly! Pretty sweet :) Anyway, here's the transcription of his letter:
¡Hola Familia! The MTC is an awesome place! Ive only been here for 3 days pero it feels like its been a very long time sense I've been home! Everyone here is like extremely happy, all the Elders and Hermanas say that if you can make it to Sunday you can stay through your whole mission. My Companion is Elder Peterson, who I call Elder Petey, he is from Preston Idaho and is a pretty big guy. hes about 260 pounds but is only 2 inches shorter than me. And honestly... hes a little strange. Nice enough guy but kind of strange. The other two elders In my district are kind of strange too. Nice guys though. I enjoy the MTC and I am excited to learn even more here! My companion and I got stopped between clases and asked by a british Elder if he and his tongan companion could share a message with us. He (the english dude) the spoke tongan (I think) while his tongan companion translated his testimony for us! it was awesome! This has to be the only place in the world where you can have a full out conversation with someone in different languages and it be normal. The first night was hard but it has been getting progressively better every single day! The best part about the mtc is deffintely falling asleep with the spirit so strong! I love you all and am very excited to continue my preperation for Mexico! Love- Elder Summers p.s. oh and Im my District Leader, the mission president at the MTC said he knew I was the right guy when he say my picture. I don't feel prepared but I know if I have faith the Lord will help me.
That last part was scrunched over on the edge... kinda hard to read :) We had a one-page letter, but he also sent a 2-pager to Chantelle that filled in a couple more details. We're all excited to hear from him next week!
