Familia,
Well it's been kind of a slow week... but it went a by a little bit faster than I thought it would. Well first off I need to update you on my ankle. It turns out it was a really bad sprain. I went to the doctor on Thursday and I met my really cool doctor. His name is Agustin Chan Lee. He is from Korea and speaks three languages.... Spanish, English, and Korean. It was fun talking to him... he's a really awesome guy and made me laugh too. Well it turns out that I will be on crutches for one more week and then I will have to wear a small brace (that pretty much goes around my ankle) for another 4-6 weeks. He says that my ankle should heal by itself in this time... but if it doesn't heal there might be a chance of a surgery (don't worry... it is a very small chance). I am not in too much pain but it's just uncomfortable and I just want to work... I feel like I am just wasting time just sitting on my butt all day. Our area is going downhill as well and the Zone is having a lot of problems. It's tough... but I know that the Lord wants me to learn patience... I thought I already got a lot better in that attribute of Christ but it turns out I need more :D
Funny thing. When you go to the hospital they call you by your name. Its super weird honestly... I am Elder Summers... I no longer go by my own name. But the worst part is... my name is Keegan David Summers... they cannot pronounce Keegan... So for the hours that I was in the hospital I was called David. But they don't even pronounce David like it is in the states... its pronounced more like Daa-vEEd. It was kind of funny... but weird. Nobody has ever called me David and even fewer times Daa-vEEd. My name is Elder Summers people!
So before playing basketball I was going to go buy new shoes with the money you sent me... but then I sprained my ankle so I haven't had a chance to buy new shoes. Instead of using the money to buy shoes, I have needed it to pay for long taxi rides to the hospital... it was a blessing that I took it out of the bank... because without the money I don't know what I would've done. I will be getting it reimbursed... but I don't know when I will be able to buy new shoes. But now I only need to buy one shoe so maybe I will get a discount ;)
Another crazy thing that has happened is that I have changes. I am now in my new area Buenos Aires 1 here in Guadalajara. Sound familiar? Well I have returned to a ward where I was serving before... different area... but same ward. Interesting right? Out of the 113 areas in the mission I have pretty much returned to two of them that I have already been in. Crazy right? I'll be honest, I'm not all that excited. I am excited to see my convert and some members here. But honestly I want to see something new. It's kind of a bummer but I am also closer to the hospital and am serving as zone leader still... I'm pretty sure the hospital being close was a factor in my change.
Love you all,
Elder Summers
