Hey folks- "Elder Veranos" has been very busy at the MTC this week! He emailed a few of us personally, but none of the emails he sent were all inclusive. To give you a bigger view of what's going on with our missionary, I've compiled the latest emails in the brief snippets below. Enjoy! -Xochitl

The MTC is seriously awesome! I'll be honest the first two days are kind of tough, you're thrown into a different world. But you keep feeling the spirit, the spirit keeps reassuring you that this is where you need to be! ...It feels like I've been here for a long time but it doesn't seem long at all... It's awesome! Spanish doesn't even seem long, I am in classes like twice as long as in school but it really doesn't seem that long - the day starts, then its over. Spanish is actually fun to learn about! Its fun because its gospel Spanish, you learn the sequence of how to say things (like your testimony and prayers) and then you just practice enough to say them. Then you learn new words and try to say them as much as you can. It's awesome!

It's been pretty busy lately and I've been struggling trying to find time to write! I am doing laundry right now at 6 in the morning before people are up so that's why I am able to email right now... I am loving the MTC and its been such a great experience, I love feeling the spirit todos los dias! It's crazy to think that I've only got a week and a half left 'til I'm headed to MEXICO! I'm so excited! The language is hard but I know that as long as I am doing my best work for the Lord he will help me with my communication and I will be able to have the Gift of tongues. Me gusta el CCM. Yo aprendo much y yo quiero aprender mas.

I'm doing great here at the MTC and I'm still learning and learning! Its pretty crazy that I've only got a week and a half left till I leave for Mexico! I actually did get my flight plans today! My first flight is at 8:15 at SLC to Dallas/Ft Worth TX at 11:55. Then My next flight Leaves from Dallas at 1:25 and we head straight down to Guadalajara with the arrival time at 4 pm. So about an hour and a half lay over in Dallas, not bad at all! That is when I'll be able to call home! ... I'm pretty happy with the 2 flights is all- another district is headed to Chile and they have like a 36 hr. travel time... isn't that crazy? I know its farther down but they have like a 6 hr. layover. I feel so blessed that I received my VISA and that I am going to be able to leave right on June 10. I am so excited to go and serve! My Spanish isn't even close to fluent but I really am not even worried. I know the Lord will take care of me. Its going to be hard but I know that I'm supposed to be serving there and nuestro Padre Celestial trusts me to spread his words in Mexico. Really there's nothing to be worried about. I am going to miss the people in my zone though. I love the other Elders in the Chile mission, there are a couple of them that I want to see after my mission because we've gotten so close these last 5 weeks. Elder Hullinger and Elder Beals are amazing people and I know they will serve the Lord with faith and courage. It has seriously been the best here at the MTC. I learn so much and I love being around all of these people that love the Lord almost as much as I do ;) Its such a wonderful place and its going to be hard to leave, but I know that its going to be even better in Mexico! Love you all, talk to you soon, let me know which phone to call when I'm in the airport! Love you all!
Con Amor,
Elder Veranos
