Hello Family and to whom it may concern,
It's been a pretty long week, with lots of meetings, it's been good though! So the District Leader came and spent a day and a night with me while Elder Tucker went to his area. It was fun! His name is Elder Smitherom and is a pretty cool guy! It was kind of tough being the one leading my companion around that day when I still am not fully confident in knowing the area here. I definitely got lost 3 or 4 times but eventually I ran into a street and recognized it. The day was good and it was kind of fun to see how a different missionary operates and works. This split was last Tuesday... its crazy that was only a week ago!
My Spanish is coming... slowly but surely. I still just kind of sit in lecciones but at least I can now share scriptures and share messages. I am now understanding people better... responding to every question is hard but at least I am now understanding them more. I have found that at the start of the day I can understand people better and I seem to share more messages, but towards the end of the day my brain just gets tired from concentrating and translating things over in my head from Spanish to English. I'm not at the point where I am just thinking in Spanish. But I now have been noticing that while I think, I
think in Spanglish. Words pop up in my head that are Spanish without even trying and then I can't think of the word in English. During my personal prayers (which are mostly in English), Spanish words always pop up without even trying, it's kind of cool and its getting me excited to one day be a Spanish thinker
:D

Elder Tucker and I haven't had problems with scorpions or cops lately but we have run into a different problem every night. While headed home in the middle of the city there is a street that is super loud. Yes loud because of people, cars, and music but even more so because of a different reason. Hundreds of birds gather on the power lines on one particular street. It's crazy and so loud! At times it legit sounds like its raining because of all the bird droppings. We probably look like a couple of weirdos walking down
this street and randomly jumping out of the way. We have to dodge and weave our way through this street to get home! Its so funny! Out of all these rainstorms of bird poop, surprisingly I've only been hit by one of their bombs once.

Okay Dad you are going to be very proud of me for this next part. Remember how you love Coke? And how I have not loved it but not hated it? All of the sudden it tastes different on my taste buds. Maybe cause the Coke is different here or that at every members house they give me Coke to drink... but all of the sudden I really like Coke! It really tastes good. I didn't think I would ever
really like it... its always been kind of an okay Soda but not my favorite. But
now I want it. I look forward to a nice bottle of Coke! It tastes good but I don't know if my teeth are going to like it after 2 years of drinking it but its whatever, its so good and worth it!

We had a meeting checking up on all of the new missionaries, on their progress and how everyone's missions are going. This meeting was yesterday which is why I am writing to you today and not yesterday (which was P-Day). It was really fun going to this meeting in Guadalajara where all the greenies came for a
meeting. After this first month in Mexico, I finally got to see my Elders from the MTC! It was so good to see them again and they are all doing great! They are such great guys, I love them. It was fun talking to them about their experiences in the Mission and all of the weird things that are in Mexico. It was also fun to see them and talk to them about how weird it is that it was a month ago that we were in the MTC. That's way crazy! So I knew that I was the only one in Jalisco and that they were all in Michoacon, but I found out yesterday that they are all in the same Zone! All three of them! Elder Neu, Elder Petersen(my MTC companion), and Elder Covington are in the same Zone! I am the only odd one out! I got there and thought it was so weird that they weren't really talking and excited to see each other while they were all excited to see me! But now I know that not only am I not serving in the same state as them but that they are all in the same Zone and Elder P and Elder C are in the same District! Its crazy but Its fine, I know that I am where I am supposed to be! It was way good to see them!
I love my mission! Its hard at times and Spanish is difficult, but I wouldn't choose to be anywhere else! :)
