Hey Family,
So this week was pretty much awesome. We did divisiones two different times this week and it was pretty much awesome.
So I don't know if you remember me talking about Elder Mills but he is awesome. We were in the same ward in Buenos Aires when I had 6 months and when he had 3 months. Anyways he is the Assistant to the President so we did divisiones with him this week and he came to work with me here in Libertad. It was so weird working with him again... just because the last time I worked with him was 10 months ago and it's crazy how much we have changed and the confidence that we now have in the Missionary Work. He is awesome and we had a really cool day together... one of the craziest days of my mission.
Well here in México the hours of the meals are a little different. You usually eat Breakfast (which is usually something small, like cereal or eggs or something) at like 8 in the morning, then you eat lunch(which is the largest of the three main meals... consists of a lot of different types of food but there are always tortillas, beans, and chile) at 2 or 2:30, and then you finish the day eating dinner (something very small like bread and milk) at like 9 at night. Well, this day we had lunch scheduled at 3 with a member of the church. We went to his house and wasn't there. We then went and taught a lesson with members of the church and then went back to see if he was there... nope. It was at like 4 in the afternoon and we still hadn't eaten a thing. Elder Mills then told me that the President said that if we don't have food we should knock on a door and ask for it. Apparently Elder Mills was kidding in this moment but I took it as a great idea. We started walking and I knocked on a door near by... a woman answered the door and I asked if she could feed two servants of the Lord... she told us that she would've loved to but she honestly didn't have food in the house but she would love to hear our message. We have an appointment with her on Tuesday.
Well, Elder Mills told me, "I honestly thought we were knocking at a members house... you're crazy Elder Summers but that was awesome!" Well, we still had a lot of hunger so we started walking to a member's house but I felt that we should go down a different street. All of the sudden a man yelled "Brothers! Come here." We then met a man named Marcos and he invited us in so we could share him a message. He told us he is a member of the church but hasn't gone for about 10 years... we taught him about the Atonement and while we were teaching he invited us to eat. Elder Mills almost yelled saying yes please! Well we were in kind of a humble home so I wasnt expecting much... but I didn't really expect what Marcos gave us to eat.

He gave us chicken soup but soup that I never had tried before. This chicken soup consisted of chicken feet (the toes and fingernails en all), chicken heart and chicken lung. I took a bite of the chicken lung and it honestly was the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted... I prefer menudo above this... and that's saying something. Elder Mills then turned to me and told me that I needed to eat the chicken heart because it tasted good. I thought he was crazy but then scooped out a chicken heart from my Campbells Chicken Noodle Soup and put it into my mouth... and to my surprise it didn't taste as bad as the lung. I then quickly ate my other chicken heart and downed down the rest. We finished the celestial soup and thanked Marcos with all of our heart and found that after a bowl of this soup you aren't really hungry at all anymore.
It was a pretty awesome experience... only in the mission and only in Guadalajara Mexico.
Love,
Elder Summers
