This week we had a lot of stuff going on. We had los consejos this week so we went to Guadalajara on Tuesday night and slept over with some Zone Leaders (where we ate some amazing tacos al pastor), were in meetings the whole day Wednesday, Thursday we had to go to the Casa de Oración to help out the maintenance crew with some new equipment (which took a long time), Friday we went to Guadalajara for the junta de la zona, Saturday we spent the whole day setting up for General Conference there in the casa de oración, Sunday we set up General Conference... my companion had to do a lot of interviews, and we did the tithes. Let's just say that there wasn't a lot of work in the obra this week.... well I guess there was but there wasn't a lot of missionary preaching going on here in our area.
Well here in our mission (I'm pretty sure it's like this in all of México) it is the tradition that the whole branch (or ward) goes to the church to watch the conference together. Being in charge of the whole General Conference has been a big thing on our minds these last couple weeks. We didn't really have a place to watch it (due to the fact that we didn't have a projector) so we had to talk to maintenece and talk to our leaders to try and get that issue taken care of. Well after doing a whole bunch of work trying to get everything situated we found ourselves watching conference solos [alone] in the house of prayer Saturday morning. Later in the afternoon 1 member showed up to watch it with us and then at like 3 o'clock it started raining super hard. Well, usually it is fine when it is raining while you are watching General Conference but in our case we don't have a roof in the Casa de Oración so we might of had a few problems. Okay so it was actually a big problem. Our whole house of prayer flooded and we had to try and save all the equipment from being destroyed. It was pretty sad right when it started raining super hard because the Elder that was speaking was the first one that was speaking Spanish and we were super excited... but instead of watching conference we were fighting the water. It was actually really fun :) Here are some pictures....

Kind of sad but I honestly didn't enjoy General Conference like I have in the past... probably because we were just so busy. It was also kind of depressing that the investigadores didn't show up to not even one single session of General Conference... it's really tough because my companion is busy setting up everything at church so we can't really go and knock on the doors of the investigadores before church to wake them up. It was a tough, long week, but I really am doing well. I love my companion and we are enjoying are time here together.
