Family,
I'll be honest this week was so awesome. I love being back here in my first area and being able to see everyone again... and actually be able to comunicate with everyone. It's awesome being back!
So, I am sure that I am the first American missionary to start out his mission here in Tepatitlán. I am remembered as the white missionary that didn't speak Spanish. I kind of thought that was a normal thing... that the members would be used to receiving new American missionaries in their branch but it wasn't that way. But now I am really enjoying this time talking with everyone and comunicating with everyone. Everyone is surprised how much I have grown in my language and grown in general.
It has been really fun being able to be here again and knowing my way around. My companion, Elder Jimenez, has been here for 2 months and well I was here for 6 months at the start of my mission... it's fun knowing the "secret paths" and showing them to my companion.
To my surprise a lot of people have moved from Tepatitlan. I was excited to see some people but they have moved.
One of the best experiences was to be able to see my first convert Hermana Claudia. She is awesome. I called her Saturday night and she didn't recognize my voice but told me that she was excited to meet me in person. I just told here that we already know each other and she then started asking for my name. I told her that I am the one that confirmed her... then over the phone she started crying. I hope that is a good sign ;) I then saw her and two of her children on Sunday and it was really awesome being able to see her again :)
I have a lot more to say but I guess I will get to it next week.
Love you all,
Elder Summers
